VITA 34 Posts Best Quarter in the Company's History
Revenues and EBIT in First Half Year of 2007 Significantly Above
Expectations

Leipzig, July 9, 2007 - VITA 34 International AG (ISIN DE000A0BL849), the
parent company of the leading cord blood bank VITA 34 has, according to
preliminary figures, underpinned its growth course in the second Quarter of
2007. Revenues according to IFRS rose by 66 percent as compared to the
prior year to Euro 3.9 million. In the entire first half year of 2007,
revenues increased by more than 50 percent as compared to the prior year to
Euro 7.4 million. The number of storage units climbed by 50 percent to
2,550 transplants in the second Quarter of 2007 as compared to the prior
year. In the entire first half year of 2007, revenues increased by more
than 65 percent to 4,996. Thus, Quarter 2 of 2007 represented, both with
regard to storage units as well as revenue, the best quarter in the 10-year
history of the company.

Despite the planned increase in marketing and sales efforts to expand the
market, VITA 34 International AG achieved a clearly positive operating
profit (EBIT) in both the first and second quarters of 2007. In the Q2 the
operating profit was Euro 355K - analysts had expected a quarterly loss. In
the first half year EBIT totaled Euro 619K, and was significantly greater
than expectations. This reflects the positive effects on profits generated
by the sales measures initiated, which produced revenues that exceeded
plans.

In addition, the Management Board of VITA 34 comprehensively adjusted for
the assets resulting from the divested US business by the closing date.
This resulted in a loss of Euro 1.0 million in the second quarter. The
adjustments, however, were neutralized in the entire first half year by the
profits posted in Quarter 1 as a result of the divestiture of the business
unit. The annual profit in the first half of 2007 was Euro 318K. In the
first half of 2006 there had been a loss of Euro 2.9 million on account of
the US business, which has since been divested of.

The Management Board of VITA 34 International AG assumes that they will
notably exceed market expectations in the full year 2007 with an increase
in storage units of some 30 percent as compared to the prior year, and an
increase in revenues of some 20 to nearly 25 percent.
