Leipzig, February 11, 2009 – VITA 34 International AG (ISIN DE000A0BL849),
the parent company of the leading umbilical cord blood bank within the
German-speaking countries VITA 34 AG, is expanding into Slovenia. VITA 34
AG is partnering with Izvorna celica d.o.o. in the EU country. It will be
in charge of marketing activities in Slovenia as well as conducting
training at fertility clinics on extracting umbilical cord blood. This is
then processed into a preparation at the VITA 34 lab in Leipzig, where it
is put into cryoconservation and stored at very low temperatures.

VITA 34 is expecting the first inflow to the bank from Slovenia, which
counts around 20,000 births every year, in the first half of 2009. This
move marks another step towards VITA 34 entering further European countries
in line with its plans. In addition to Germany, the Leipzig-based company
already operates in Spain, Austria and Switzerland. 2009 is to see
expansion to one further European market in addition to Slovenia.
