VITA 34 presents midyear figures and enters into cooperation with major
laboratory service provider

Leipzig, July 12, 2011 - The VITA 34 International AG (ISIN DE000A0BL849),
parent company of the oldest private umbilical cord blood bank in the
German-speaking countries, VITA 34 AG, publishes the key financials for the
1st half of 2011 and furthermore announces a cooperation with the MVZ
synlab Leverkusen GmbH intended to support sales and marketing. The first
six months of 2011 still took a restrained course for VITA 34. The number
of cord blood storages amounted to 4,477 compared to 5,152 one year ago.
Revenue increased from 7.6m Euro to 7.8m Euro, but it has to be considered
that the Spanish subsidiary Secuvita had not been consolidated throughout
the entire period of previous year. The EBIT of -0.6m Euro still turned out
negative in the 1st half-year of 2011, while 0.2m Euro were registered in
the same period last year. The group result amounted to -0.4m Euro compared
to 0.2m Euro. For the total year 2011, VITA 34 expects to be in the black
with a revenue at least on last year's level.

VITA 34 has concluded a far-reaching cooperation agreement with the MVZ
synlab Leverkusen GmbH, taking immediate effect, in order to support the
existing marketing and sales activities. According to this agreement, MVZ
synlab is going to co-market the preventive services provided by VITA 34 at
its numerous locations - mainly at West German clinics. MVZ synlab is one
of the largest providers of laboratory services in Germany and has
altogether more than 100 locations and about 1,000 employees.
