Leipzig, November 15, 2007 - VITA 34 International AG (ISIN DE000A0BL849),
the parent company of the leading umbilical cord blood bank in the
German-speaking countries, VITA 34, is expanding its offering in the field
of the storage of stem cells from umbilical cord blood. The stem cells
stored at VITA 34 as of January 1, 2008 can additionally be made available
to a public donation registry. Thus, VITA 34 is making it possible for the
first time to combine private storage with public stem cell donations.

The specific tissue characteristics of the stem cell preparations stored at
VITA 34 can be passed on to and stored by the charitable database of NKR –
Initiative Leben spenden Deutschland. The stem cells will remain the
property of the parents, however, in case of need they can be made
available to patients worldwide with the parents’ permission. In this case
the parents will reimbursed for the costs of storage. An individual
decision, therefore, can be made as to whether the stem cells are to be
donated or continue to be available to their own child.

The public donation of umbilical cord blood for the first time throughout
Germany is made possible by the cooperation of VITA 34 with 900 birthing
clinics. VITA 34 is responding to the requests of parents and professional
organizations for a combination of own provision and umbilical cord blood
donation with this product model.

VITA 34 is then only private umbilical cord blood bank in Germany with a
pharmaceutical permit from the Paul Ehrlich Institute for the storage of
allogenic umbilical cord blood donations. Consequently, VITA 343 has all of
the official permission for storage and releasing both allogenic and
autologous blood stem cell preparations.
