VITA 34 International AG: Big results surge in 1st half year 2010
* EBIT rises to 0.2m Euro
* Number of storages 5,152 - above last year's high level
* Clearly improved profitability for total year expected

Leipzig, July 13, 2010 - The VITA 34 International AG (ISIN DE000A0BL849),
parent company of the oldest private umbilical cord blood bank in the
German-speaking countries VITA 34 AG, was able to clearly increase the
earnings before taxes and interests (EBIT) to 0.2m Euro in the 1st half
year 2010. In the corresponding period last year, the EBIT had still
amounted to -0.2m Euro. At the same time, the number of storages of
umbilical cord blood of 5,152 slightly exceeded last year's already high
level of 5,125. The sales revenues of 7.6m Euro in the 1st half year 2010
clearly exceeded last year's level of 7.0m Euro. In addition, the increase
in sales also results from cost reduction measures and process
optimization.
The corporate result improved to 0.2m Euro, after the break-even point had
been reached in the first half year 2009. The equity capital increased to
18.9m Euro as per June 30, 2010, compared with 18.1m Euro as per June 30,
2009. Even after the acquisition of the majority of shares in the previous
Spanish partner Secuvita in May 2010, the liquid assets at an amount of
4.5m Euro were on a very good level as per the end of June 2010.
The increase in earnings in the first half year 2010 underlines the
corporation's plans: VITA 34 expects a considerably increased profitability
for the total year 2010. After the Secuvita takeover -Secuvita is being
consolidated on corporate level since mid-May 2010 -VITA 34 is expecting a
revised revenue of about 17 to 18m Euro for the total year 2010. In the
fiscal year 2009, the sales revenues had amounted to about 15m Euro.
